Employers look for candidates with relevant industry related qualifications and experience. If you have passed a relevant practical Air Cabin Crew Training Course like GTT01 Ready for Take Off you are well equipped to get an interview.

The general minimum criteria for Cabin Crew is:

Aged 19 or over

Height 52 (1.58m) to 63 (1.90m) with weight in proportion to height Physically fit A minimum of a C grade average at GCSE level (or equivalent) Fluent in spoken and written English In possession of at least six months face-to-face customer service experience Able to swim at least 25 metres In possession of the right to work in the UK and travel freely in the EU

In addition, you should be:

Friendly and personable

Mature in attitude and outlook

Able to remain calm and efficient under pressure

An excellent communicator with people of all ages and cultures A team player Flexible and adaptable Able to take direction and feedback Living within or prepared to move within one and a half hours of your base.

We would stress that this minimum criteria only and increasingly employers are looking for candidates who have relevant qualifications, practical experience and appropriate skills and attributes to work as Cabin Crew.

Can I do your courses in the UK?

GTT courses are self study home based courses ranging from 50 -80 hours notional learning. We are able to offer onsite courses at Waterford Regional Airport, Ireland.

Acceptance on the course is subject to a telephone interview call 02890 817677. Face to face Interviews can be arranged for anyone with special requirements. Places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment. Interviewees will be required to explain why they want to do the course. Next available dates: 13 Sep - 23 Sep 2004

Where do I sit the examinations?

Galileo reservations will be assessed online at a convenient time for you.

The final assessment for GTT01 Ready for Take Off (RFTO) usually takes place in Belfast, Dublin or London on an annual basis and at any time in Waterford Airport in Ireland. However, if you are an overseas student and would like to take your exam closer to home, you must arrange with your local college/school to supervise your exam. The college/school must meet with our Approval. RFTO exam paper will be sent directly to the invigilator in the college. If the college charges for this service, the student must cover the cost.

Where do I get course support?

Can I do GTT courses Online?

Yes!

GTT now offers online travel training courses in all four of the main GDS`s Galileo, Sabre, Worldspan and Amadeus. Galileo comes with a Galileo Passport and is worth 10 IATA points

Are there any added costs?

Postage and packaging costs are listed in the payment box. The total cost includes materials, carriage, examination entry and certification.

How do I pay?

We currently accept payment off-line by credit/ debit card, cheque or bank draft. Please see payment box. We will be moving to an online payment system in Spring 2004

How long do I have access to the course?

All materials are updated on regular basis. You have unlimited access to the Ready For Take Off course material but the final examination must be sat within one year of starting the course. You have access to the Galileo CD ROMs for nine months. We encourage all our students to sit the assessments within six months of purchasing the courses.

Will I get a certificate after completing a GTT course?

GTT works closely with International Academy of Travel who is partnered with Galileo Ireland and the World Travel Centre. On Completion of the Galileo Course you will be awarded a Galileo Ireland Passport and IAOT certificate worth 10 IATA points. On completion of Ready for Take Off you will be awarded a Certificate of International Travel Industry Studies

Do you help me to find a job?

Upon successful completion of one of our courses GTT will endeavour to assist you in securing employment. GTT has established professional links through its affiliate programme. Do I need any entry qualifications?

No. GTT courses assume no prior knowledge but will quickly equip you with the knowledge and skills required to get a job in the industry

How long do the courses take?

The recommended duration for Ready for Take Off is 80 hours home study. The recommended study time for Galileo and other Reservation programmes is 60 hours duration
